Painting my Denim Jacket

As I was planning my trip to Houston for the Hailey Kiyoko Concert I was wondering what I should wear for it. I love making custom pieces that are related to the concert or festival that I am going to, so that’s when I thought about painting a denim jacket and wearing it at the concert.

Going to concerts is one of my favorite things to do, jumping in unison with the sound of music, sweating and yelling out the lyrics to my favorites songs while they are being performed on stage is an amazing feeling. I have a tradition that every-time I go to a concert I have to customize a piece of clothing that is related to the artist I am seeing; for example, whenever I saw Marilyn Manson I cropped a t-shirt and wore his characteristic makeup. This time I am attending Hayley Kiyoko’s concert, she is a half Japanese and American artist that got started in Nickelodeon. She now sings, produces and writes high quality inclusive queer music and I am low key obsessed with her new album Expectations.

I painted Hailey Kiyoko surrounded by some beautiful flowers and butterflies in the back of my denim jacket with Acrylic paints. I hope you guys like this and enjoy it!
